SPOT – Social Professionals of Toastmasters
SPOT meets every Tuesday at the Westin River North hotel, which is located at 320 North Dearborn (please check reader board for meeting room location). Our Meeting starts promptly at 6:15PM
SPOT, Social Professionals of Toastmasters is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization and a division of Toastmasters International. What makes our program different from other Toastmasters program is that we cater to professionals. We are also very selective on who can join our club because we only want members that are going to be committed to the program. SPOT is a place where you develop and grow – both personally and professionally. You join a community of professionals, and in our meetings we learn by doing. Whether you’re an executive, entrepreneur or business owner, you will improve yourself; building skills to express yourself in a variety of situations. You’ll open up a world of new possibilities: giving better work presentations; leading meetings – and participating in them – more confidently; speaking more smoothly off the cuff; even handling one-on-one interactions with family, friends and colleagues more positively.
The environment at SPOT is friendly and supportive. Everyone at our meeting feels welcomed and valued – from complete beginners to advanced speakers. In a club meeting, you practice giving prepared speeches as well as brief impromptu presentations, known as Table Topics.
Constructive evaluation is central to our philosophy. Each time you give a prepared speech, an Evaluator will point out strengths as well as suggest improvements. Receiving – and giving – such feedback is a great learning experience. At SPOT , encouragement and improvement go hand-in-hand.
We meet every Wednesday night at 6:15pm – rain or shine – at the Westin River North hotel, (please check the reader board for meeting room location). Guest can attend two meetings at no cost, so bring a friend! We are also a very social club so after our meetings we all gather for food and drinks!
Come see why we’re the best thing that’s ever happened to public speaking!
